I help women understand why their body adapted โ€” and what to do next.

I am Alejandra Belmar โ€” Chilean-born, Brooklyn-based, a Functional Medicine Health Coach, strength trainer, and human adaptation specialist for women 40+.

For more than twenty years, I have worked with women through perimenopause, menopause, postnatal recovery, injury, chronic pain, and the long process of finding their way back to strength. For many years I called myself a trainer because it was the word people understood. But training is only one part of what I do.

WHAT I ACTUALLY DOย

I look at how your body has organized itself around everything it has lived through.

Hormonal change, stress, injury, surgery, pain, caregiving, disrupted sleep, work, and the movement patterns repeated over years. Then I help you notice what your body is doing and introduce new information through strength, breath, movement, sensory input, fascia work, and recovery. We reassess as we go. Your response tells us what matters.

Sometimes a change at the foot alters what the opposite shoulder can do. Sometimes sleep or nourishment is limiting the training more than motivation. My job is not to force your body into a formula. It is to pay attention well enough to find the next useful step.

WHY I CREATED ANTU MARย

A place where the pieces can finally speak to one another.

Women are often given separate pieces: a workout, a prescription, a physical-therapy exercise, a supplement, a breathing practice. Each may be useful, but no one helps them understand how the pieces speak to one another โ€” or which one matters now.

I created Antu Mar to give this work a home: a place where strength, nervous-system health, hormonal transition, recovery, and lived experience can be held in the same conversation. Antu Mar is not a method separate from me. It is the place where you meet my work, learn to understand your body, and build strength with support.
